3 for 3
three percent. three charities.
By purchasing an original SPOON painting, you are not only expanding your art collection, you are also helping to enrich the lives of others.
As part of SPOON's commitment to making sure that her work makes a difference wherever it can, her "3 for 3" charitable contribution initiative ensures that 3% of the proceeds from every painting sale will be donated to 3 different charities. Each charity has a personal draw for SPOON as it relates to her life + work, but she also looks for organizations that contribute to improving the health, education and culture of society at large.
CHILDREN’S HEALTHCARE OF ATLANTA (CHOA)
Children's Healthcare of Atlanta is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing specialized care to kids from all walks of life. As a mother and an artist, SPOON's draw to this effort is obvious, and the desire to stop any child from suffering is something she feels is universal.
Georgia lawyers for the arts
GLA is a nonprofit organization that provides legal and business service for artists. They are a network of lawyers that donate their time to the protection of the arts and artists. Having come from the corporate world, SPOON understands the business aspects of being an artist, but there are a lot of really talented artists out there that haven’t had such experience. If they don't understand their business or their rights, they may never realize their full potential. An organization that provides legal services, helps artists set up their business, and provides them with free educational seminars, is critical to the health and success of the arts.
atlanta science education
This non-profit organization brings together schools and the local community to show them the importance of science in understanding our world, while presenting them with opportunities for educational growth and career opportunities in S.T.E.A.M. (science, technology, engineering, arts and math) related fields. SPOON's paintings were developed as much through math and science principals as they were through traditional art mediums. Without her engineering and science educations she would have never developed her identifiable style. She feels that science opens up a world of possibilities far beyond their specified fields.
